About

Managing well on the outside, worn down inside.

Much of Nan’s work is with people who are handling their lives capably and feel, underneath that, tired in a way rest does not fix. The competence is real. So is the cost. Therapy is a place to look at both without having to justify either.

Before clinical work, Nan spent years in strategy consulting and professional services working in technology, government, consumer, and education sectors, specializing in M&A. That background shapes the work: a familiarity with demanding environments, with the pressure to perform, and the impact that may have on people’s mental and physical health.

Approach

Nan is trained in EMDR and practices from an integrative, trauma-informed framework that treats the whole person rather than a set of symptoms. The work draws on parts-based approaches, somatic and nervous-system regulation, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-oriented methods, selected and paced according to each client’s history, culture, and capacity. Attention stays on the body as well as the narrative.

A particular focus is intergenerational trauma in immigrant and BIPOC families: the patterns of silence, sacrifice, and vigilance that pass down without being named, and what it takes to interrupt them. Nan offers sessions in English and Mandarin.
