“Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence.”

Peter Levine

What we offer

Care shaped
around you.

Trauma & EMDR

Trauma shapes how we move through the world — quietly, until it doesn’t. We offer EMDR-informed therapy and somatic approaches for complex and intergenerational trauma, particularly for BIPOC clients navigating layered experiences of harm.

Our work is paced to you — building safety first, then gently processing what you’re ready to face.

Parenting & Perinatal

Pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood are profound transitions — and sometimes isolating ones. We support parents navigating identity shifts, relationship changes, birth trauma, and the deep work of raising securely attached children.

We also work with parents who want to break inherited patterns and show up differently than they were raised.

Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety and depression rarely look the same twice. We work with high-functioning anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, chronic emptiness, and the kind of low-grade sadness that accumulates quietly over time.

Our approach draws on evidence-based methods adapted to who you actually are — not a checklist version of your symptoms.

Life Transitions

Career pivots, relationship changes, grief, moves across the country — transitions are often when our foundations get tested. Therapy can help you find ground when everything feels uncertain.

We especially support first-generation navigators, immigrants, and clients in demanding careers who feel the cost of constant adaptation.

Individual Therapy

One-on-one therapy is a space to slow down and understand yourself more fully — your patterns, your history, the ways you’ve adapted to survive, and who you want to become.

We offer in-person sessions in Pasadena and Larchmont Village and telehealth throughout California. All adults welcome.

Couples & Relational Therapy

All couples face friction — the question is whether it grows you closer or further apart. We work with communication, intimacy, trust after rupture, desire discrepancy, and the underlying attachment wounds that drive cycles of conflict.

We are fully affirming of all relationship structures and identities.

Children & Teens

Children communicate what they can’t say in words: through behavior, play, and the body. We use play and expressive arts to help younger clients feel safe, understood, and able to express what is going on inside, with parent consultation alongside so the work carries into home life.

Teens need a space that is theirs. We meet adolescents with respect and directness, supporting them through anxiety, identity, school and social pressure, family conflict, and the weight of things they may not have told anyone yet. Sessions are confidential within the limits of safety, and parents are brought in thoughtfully rather than by default.

BIPOC Communities

We are a practice rooted in cultural humility. Our clinicians bring lived experience and clinical training to the intersections of race, identity, and mental health — including racial trauma, code-switching, family pressures, and navigating predominantly white spaces.

You don’t have to explain yourself here. You just get to be.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming

We offer fully affirming care for LGBTQIA+ clients — not as a specialty add-on, but as a foundational value. We support clients navigating coming out, chosen family, gender identity, minority stress, and the particular exhaustion of moving through a world not built for you.

Your identity is never a problem to solve here.

About Kinnection

Built on the belief
that connection heals.

Good therapy doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens in the space between people: between therapist and client, between partners, between each of us and the communities we are a part of.

Kinnection is a female-founded, trauma-informed practice, and a proudly affirming one, serving BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.

We offer in-person therapy at our Larchmont and Pasadena offices and telehealth across California, so care can fit into everyday life rather than the other way around.

Our clinicians are trained in EMDR, somatic approaches, relational therapy, parts work, CBT, DBT, and attachment-focused work, and thoughtfully tailor therapy to each person’s needs and goals.
